Job Description:

Nassau Candy is a premier importer, manufacturer and distributor of specialty confections, fine foods, and promotional products.

We are currently looking for a well-rounded Product Development Manager to join our incredible team on site in Hicksville, NY!

This critical position is responsible for supporting the process of ensuring customer needs are met and exceeded in a custom manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include managing all aspects of pre-production development including costing, researching, purchasing, and sourcing new or existing products.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with the development and creation of unique product offerings across multiple lines of business
  • Support requests from internal stakeholders and sales/broker teams to fulfill private label and branded programs
  • Conduct research regarding new product and packaging ideas
  • Coordinate new product development including market & product research, competitive analysis, timeline development, sourcing, costing, and packaging
  • Support the sales team in coordination with the sourcing department by locating and pricing products and packaging which meet customer specifications and price points
  • Assist with product costing breakdown and bill of materials development, including raw materials, components, labor, and other costs to determine pricing
  • Manage procedures such as sample log and placing/tracking orders
  • Communicate with domestic and third-party vendors for obtaining pricing stock and other information, request samples, and finalize information for purchasing, marketing, production, and other departments
  • May perform other duties and participate with other projects as required

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor s Degree in related field preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years project management experience in PD or Packaging in a manufacturing or CPG organization
  • Experience building Bill of Materials (BOM) / Sourcing products domestically
  • Experience in CUSTOM CORPORATE GIFTING or PROMOTIONAL PRODUCTS a huge plus
  • Dynamic multi-tasker; can prioritize, balance, and support multiple initiatives
  • Possesses an organized, detail-focused approach
  • Ability to problem solve creatively and effectively
  • Working knowledge of sales cycles and experience supporting sales staff and customers
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and written
