Job Description:
DescriptionThis position is located in Jamestown, New York.*Sign-on Bonus- $2,500.00*Relocation assistance availableSummary/Objective:Research, plans, designs, or improve manufacturing systems or processes. Collaborate with production, quoting, quality, and other related departments to refine designs or processes to increase productivity and/or efficiency and decrease costs.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Direct and coordinate activities to ensure systems and processes conform to design and customer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.
  • Investigate and/or resolve operational problems.
  • Identify opportunities or effectuate changes to improve processes or products or to reduce costs, using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts.
  • Apply continuous improvement methods to enhance quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) software.
  • Provide technical expertise or support.
  • Incorporate new methods or processes to improve existing operations.
  • Review product designs for manufacturability or completeness.
  • Determine root causes of failures.
  • Recommend and support implementation of changes in process methods using statistical procedures.
  • Prepare reports summarizing information or trends.
  • Prepare documentation for new processes or procedures.
  • Design layout to improve efficiency.
  • Communicate capabilities, schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
  • Supervise technicians, technologists, analysts, administrative staff, or other engineers.
  • Design, install, or troubleshoot equipment.
  • Evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimate costs, production times, or staffing requirements for new designs or new processes.
  • Train personnel in new or current methods.
  • Design tests to establish standards or validate process requirements.
  • Stay abreast of developments in the manufacturing field.
Technology Skills (Preferred):
  • Analytical or scientific software - SolidWorks
  • Cloud-based data access and sharing software - Microsoft Teams
  • Computer aided design CAD software - SolidWorks.
  • Computer aided manufacturing CAM software - CNC Mastercam
  • Data base user interface and query software - Microsoft Access
  • Enterprise resource planning ERP software - Infor Visual
Knowledge requirements: production and processing, engineering and technology, machines and tools, design techniques, mathematics, computers and electronics, English language, physics, business administration and management principles, and training / instruction.Skills required: reading comprehension, mathematics, complex problem solving, speaking, active listening, monitoring/assessing performance of self or others, judgment and decision making, operations monitoring, systems analysis, systems evaluation, critical thinking, writing, active learning, technology design, time management, troubleshooting, quality control analysis, operations analysis, learning strategies, science, persuasion, instructing, service orientation.Education:
  • Bachelors in engineering or 10 years' experience
Credentials:
  • 5 years' experience in a machining or grinding manufacturing facility.
Work Environment:
  • Office setting
  • Manufacturing floor environments
  • Controlled temperature environments
Expected Hours of Work:
  • This is a Full-Time Salary position required to work Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends.
Travel:
  • Up to 5%
Pay Range $80,000.00 Annually to $100,000.00 Annually
