Job Description:

This position is located in Jamestown, New York.

*Sign-on Bonus- $2,500.00

Summary/Objective:

Create manufacturing processes after analyzing the requirements of the finished product, developing, altering, and testing various manufacturing methods and consulting with equipment vendors. Conduct research and review manufacturing processes by using or gaining knowledge of product fabrication, design, and materials as well as consulting with machine vendors and operators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with project staff to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of materials, time, labor, and other resources required to complete the project.
  • Facilitates and contributes to the development of project plans and designs.
  • Recommends and/or analyzes materials, equipment, and practices used in the project.
  • Assesses the competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status of vendors.
  • Supervises progress of development project.
  • Compares the actual cost of development project to estimates.
  • Collaborates with design group to change plans if problems arise.
  • Analyzes equipment, systems, processes, and systems to identify modifications to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
  • Prepares periodic progress and cost reports for leadership.
  • Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies.
  • Collaborates with the operations department to identify and troubleshoot problems.
  • Collaborates with project engineers from other plants to share problems and solutions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing Preferred).
  • 3+ years manufacturing experience working in support of CNC machining operations.
  • Experience in development of CNC machining processes in Medical, Injection Mold industry or related fields.
  • 3+ years of SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Proven Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma skills desired.
  • Experience using ADePT or other document management software.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a Full-Time Salary position required to work Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends.

Travel: 10%
