For more than three decades, our investing expertise across our fully integrated platform has served the financial return needs of our clients and provided businesses with innovative capital solutions for growth. The Role

Within its global credit group, Apollo currently operates an industry leading real estate lending platform primarily focused on balance sheet mortgage lending. The platform continues to grow and adapt to the evolving CRE market and plans to augment its current capabilities by establishing an opportunistic CRE lending group to deliver comprehensive capital solutions to real estate owners and operators.

The Managing Director or Principal (depending on experience) will play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of this new group. In addition, this individual will leverage their network as well as Apollo's broad capabilities to source and originate investment opportunities and structure deals across the real estate landscape.

Primary Responsibilities

* Utilize Apollo's existing capabilities and leverage internal/external network to identify new investment opportunities, with specific focus in direct origination, portfolio trades, and liquid opportunities

* Act as a key design partner in formalizing the investment process and return parameters, enabling the team to provide holistic solutions to the market

* Source, originate, negotiate, underwrite and structure bespoke real estate transactions

* Contribute to the portfolio construction and management of Apollo's opportunistic real estate credit strategy

Qualifications & Experience

* 8-12 years of relevant investing experience within a real estate fund, investment bank, direct lending, hedge fund or private equity firm

* Proven experience engaging and negotiating with issuers to originate and structure credit investments including senior debt, mezzanine debt and preferred equity

* Experience creating hybrid transaction structures with real estate as collateral

* Real estate investing experience required, but candidates do not need to be real estate specialists or necessarily career real estate investors

* Exceptional communication and networking skills, as well as a keen attention to detail

* Team player with the ability to thrive independently on a small entrepreneurial team
