**Description**

**Job Objective:**

* To prepare food for service according to menu plans and standardized recipes in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Demonstrates the ability to work in a kitchen where large quantities of food are prepared

* Exhibits a caring and patient behavior towards residents

* Monitors inventory control and supplies

* Demonstrates the ability to use kitchen equipment

* Demonstrates the ability to use general cleaning equipment and materials

* Possess the ability to function as a team member

* Prepares and portions food items as designated

* Responsible for setting up the service line for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as preparing and serving meals to all residents.

* Prepares food so that it is ready for service at a specified time.

* Serves food in an efficient, timely and accurate manner during all meal periods.

**Qualifications:**

* HS Diploma or equivalent

* Ability to read, write and understand English language

* Possess simple mathematical calculations; add, subtract, multiply and divide

* Excellent team work skills

* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

* Familiar with Health Department Regulations

* Previous experience working with the senior population preferred

* Strong background in food production and line serving

**Experience:**

Minimum 3 years working in the food service industry Restaurant line cook experience preferred
