We are currently operating multiple small restaurant outlets (Ham Bar, Mockingbird Taco, Wizard Hat Pizza, the Buttery a provision store, Chickadee bakery, and Vyne Yard wineshop) and we are growing.   • Prepare and cook pizzas in accordance with the restaurant's recipes and quality standards.
  • Monitor and maintain the proper temperature of pizza ovens and other cooking equipment.
  • Prepare dough, sauces, and toppings to ensure the availability of ingredients for pizza production.
  • Stretch and shape pizza dough to achieve the desired thickness and size.
  • Apply appropriate amounts of sauce, cheese, and toppings to pizzas, ensuring consistent portioning and presentation.
  • Operate and maintain various kitchen equipment, such as mixers, slicers, and dough presses.
  • Monitor cooking times to ensure that pizzas are baked or cooked to perfection.
  • Assist in managing inventory levels by monitoring ingredient usage and reporting shortages to the management.
  • Ensure compliance with NYC food safety regulations during food preparation and storage.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to expedite orders during peak hours and maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Communicate effectively with the waitstaff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address any customer inquiries or special requests.
  • Train and mentor new kitchen staff members on proper pizza preparation techniques and safety protocols.
  • Assist in other kitchen duties, such as prepping ingredients, washing dishes, and maintaining stock levels, as needed.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary education or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a pizza cook or in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Knowledge of NYC labor laws and food safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of food products.
  • Proficient in pizza dough preparation, stretching, and shaping techniques.
  • Strong understanding of different pizza styles, toppings, and flavor combinations.
  • Ability to operate and maintain various kitchen equipment, such as pizza ovens, dough mixers, and slicers.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity to assemble and garnish pizzas with precision.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality pizzas consistently.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and address customer inquiries or concerns professionally.
