PET/CT Technologist (Per diem)Port Jefferson, NYNew York Imaging provides a comprehensive range of cutting-edge diagnostic imaging services from state-of-the-art modalities at various institutions. Our patient-oriented imaging centers aim to create a positive experience for all. We are conveniently located throughout Long Island, we have facilities in Lake Success and Port Jefferson Station, along with affiliated locations in Riverhead, Setauket, and Southampton. Our team performs technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care, utilizing efficient and safe processes.In this role you will:
  • Administer radioactive chemical compounds.
  • Keep track of safety measures to protect patients while performing scans.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot radiologic equipment carefully.
  • Perform patient imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation.
  • Accomplish computer processing and image enhancement.
  • Provide images, data analysis and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and reactions during the scan, reporting abnormal signs to Physicians.
  • Perform complex PET exams, consulting with Radiologist for appropriate scan procedure.
  • Gain the patients confidence by obtaining pertinent history, describing the procedure, and answering any questions.
  • Monitor the patient's physical condition during the procedure.
  • Note any specific patient comments which might indicate the need for additional images or might be useful to the physician in interpreting the results of the procedure.
We require:
  • Diploma from a Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB and/or ARRT-N) (Required)
  • NMTCB(CT) and/or ARRT(CT) (Required)
  • NYS License required.
  • At least 2 years' experience
