Job SummaryThe Memory Care Specialist per diem position presents an exciting opportunity to take on an important role in our company. Due to demand, Inspired Memory Care is continuing to grow its private services division. We seek a certified therapeutic recreation specialist or social worker to respond to requests for One-to-One Connection Sessions for engagement services, home visits for skills discovery assessments, and co-facilitate a cognitive stimulation therapy program. Immediate need dictates this position will cover about 40 hours a month. Put your experience and knowledge as a dementia care professional to use while developing and implementing holistic strategies for supporting clients living with Alzheimer's disease and related dementia and their care teams. Job Responsibilities
  • Implement One-to-One Connection Sessions. These are personalized engagement sessions designed to provoke creative exploration and expression, maximizing the client's engagement, esteem, and relationship building.
  • Home visits for skills discovery assessments (assessment of strengths for individuals living with dementia), IMC will provide training
  • Co-facilitate a cognitive stimulation therapy program
  • Travel throughout boroughs of New York City
Preferred Job Skills & Qualifications
  • At least two years of experience working with the geriatric population, two years of experience partnering with individuals living with dementia
  • A degree in the following field: Therapeutic Recreation, Art Therapy, Music Therapy or other allied health
  • Willing to consider interns in the following fields: Therapeutic Recreation, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, or other allied health
  • Being bilingual is a plus
Compensation: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour Inspired Memory Care, Inc.
