Job Description:
Job Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Duties:- Calculate and process payroll for all employees, including regular and overtime hours, bonuses, commissions, and other earnings including adjustments based on timesheets and other relevant data- Assist with internal and external audits by providing required payroll data and ensuring compliance with audit requirements- Calculate and manage employee deductions and withholdings for taxes, insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits- Maintain accurate and organized payroll records, including employee wage and hour information, tax documents, and other payroll-related data.- Review and verify accuracy of payroll data, including hours worked, overtime, bonuses, and commissions- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters- Collaborate with HR department to ensure accurate employee records- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation- Other duties as assignedSkills:- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, debits, credits, and journal entries- Proficiency in technical accounting concepts related to payroll processing- Experience with Paycom payroll software preferred- Familiarity with accounts payable processes- Understanding of financial concepts related to payroll and benefits administration- Knowledge of corporate accounting practices and proceduresRequirements:- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role-Strong knowledge of payroll practices, laws, and regulations- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion- Proven experience as a payroll specialist or similar role- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)- Effective communication skills, both written and verbalThis is a full-time position offering competitive compensation.
