Description
The Dougherty County Police Department is hiring on a continuous basis for Patrol Officer.
Essential Tasks
Employee in this position is responsible for, but not limited to: patrol, crime prevention, traffic enforcement, investigating criminal/civil complaints, responding to residential and business alarms and other areas of assignment.
Minimum Qualification
For this law enforcement position applicants must be:
1. At least 21 years of age;
2. United States citizen;
3. High School graduate or equivalent (additional post high school coursework preferred);
4. Certified or eligible to become certified under the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Act within six months of employment;
5. Able to clear background investigation;
6. In proportion for height/weight standards; and
7. Able to pass a job valid physical endurance test.
NOTE: In addition to the completed County application, applicants for law enforcement vacancies must submit copies of: a) Birth Certificate, b) High School Diploma or equivalent, c) Valid Georgia Driver's License, and d) DD 214 military discharge (if applicable) at the time of application.
