Job DetailsJob LocationDanbury - Danbury, CTPosition TypeFull TimeSalary Range$18.00 - $21.00DescriptionGENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIESThe primary responsibility of the Patient Care Representative is to greet and register patients arriving for appointments with physicians and ensure all required patient information is collected and input. Thoroughly and accurately complete patient registration to include, but not limited to collecting/verifying insurance information and eligibility if not collected in advance of the appointment.Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pmBenefits:401(k) matching + profit sharingHealth/Dental/Vision InsuranceFSA/HSA optionsLife insurance/AD&D/STD/LTDPaid time offEmployee Discount ProgramRESPONSIBILITIES:Greets and registers patients in a prompt, pleasant and helpful manner; instructs patients to sign in; request and scan insurance cards; provide the appropriate secretary with the sign in sheet at end of sessionVerify and update all required information (demographic and insurance) and accurately enter data into CentricityAssures assignment of benefits by obtaining guarantors signatureAssures patient has received and acknowledged receipt of OrthoConnecticut HIPPA brochureAssists patients in completing required medical history formsCollects all co-pays, unpaid balances and installment payments, generates a receipt and batches receipts with payments at the end of each sessionQualificationsREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESHigh school graduation or GED; post-graduate degree preferredAt least one year of work experience in a medical office setting preferredKnowledge of medical office procedures and insurance verification preferredAbility to demonstrate a mature, dependable, and responsible approach when interacting with patients, physicians, co-workers, and additional outside sourceUnderstands referral requirements of major third party payers preferredAbility to multi-task, prioritize and exceptional attention to detailExcellent organizational, verbal and written communication skillsMust be able to multi-taskFluency in Spanish a plusOrthoConnecticut, delivering exceptional care and real results has always been our mission, though we did things a little differently when we opened our doors in 1954.
