Maintain and provide excellent support at the tech counter for technicians while working in a fast pace environment.
To achieve department's monthly goal in retail parts and accessory sales and related profits
Handle incoming parts-related phone calls
Arrange stock so that it is readily accessible, easily inventoried on a perpetual basis and displayed well
Plan, prepare, and maintain parts stock inventory
Sell parts over the counter to service, sales and customers and dispense parts to shop personnel when the shipping & receiving department is not available
Handle cashier function of the parts and service departments as necessary
Maintain backorder file for all customer special orders
Maintain master parts and price books and update them as necessary
Maintain appropriate levels of inventory for all items in stock, ordering product on a daily basis as necessary
Maintain, in the IDS computer system, maximum and minimum stock levels for all stocked parts and accessories
Make sure that all parts sales are accounted for immediately, either as a parts sale or billed to a repair order
Assist the shipping and receiving department in the receiving, counting and stocking of all incoming merchandise and shop supplies as necessary
Assist in the performing of daily cycle counts as necessary
Assist members of the sales department in obtaining special order and aftermarket parts and accessories pricing and order these parts and schedule their installation, as authorized by the sales department
Fill propane tanks for retail customers as required
Maintain a level of product knowledge necessary to market retail store products to prospective customers
Learn and understand the duties of fellow parts personnel in order to provide backup as necessary
Maintain a clean and professional parts desk, parts counter and parts department
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Accounting software; Inventory software and Internet software
