Paralegal Role
Barry McTiernan & Moore s has an opening in our New York City office. The firm is seeking a Paralegal to join our Toxic Tort group. BMM is seeking a Paralegal with 2 to 4 years of experience handling extensive research and case document management. Knowledge of the full life cycle of a case is required to be successful in this role. Candidates must possess experience in all phases of pre-trial preparation as well as strong organization, research and writing and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
Work closely with attorneys in handling all aspects of case management and trial preparation in a fast-paced team environment.
Manage high-volume caseload.
Conduct complex research and investigation to further deposition preparation and development of trial strategy.
Manage various aspects of trial preparation, including drafting comprehensive summaries, gathering exhibits, compiling trial notebooks, and filing court documents.
Review and prepare various legal documents, reports, and correspondence.
Transcribe and proofread legal documents when needed.
Prepare pleadings, motions, and responses for cases.
Finalize documents for submission including all required exhibits.
Experience and Qualifications
2-4 years as a Paralegal in a defense firm.
Proficiency with MS Office
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines
Excellent organization skills
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and driven with a commitment to excellence.
Proficient in Westlaw and/or Lexis.
