Job Type Full-timeDescriptionPURPOSE: The Online Referral Specialist (ORS) serves as a liaison between TFH's Families in Temporary Housing (FTH) team and representatives (e.g., program directors, case managers, social workers, and other representatives) fromthe Department of Homeless Services (DHS) and Department of Education (DOE). The ORS will be responsible for the processing of all new referrals submitted online, by fax or directly by phone from both DHS and DOE representatives. The ORS will also assist the FTH director and team with any other projects, as needed.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serves as a liaison between DHS shelter personnel and Families in Temporary Housing (FTH) team.
- Serves as a liaison between DOE personnel (e.g., social workers, guidance counselors, school nurses, teachers) and the FTH team.
- Processes all referrals made on TFHs on-line referral platform and creates accounts and appointments for new medical patients.
- Works with the Registration department to ensure that the daily medical provider schedules are populated with the correct number of New Visits.
- Reviews new referral requests for dental care and coordinates/ sends information to Dental team for scheduling.
- Reviews new referral requests for mental health (that are made in conjunction with requests for medical appointments), and places alert in ATHENA for medical provider at time that the medical appointment is being scheduled.
- Ensures that all patient demographic and insurance information from shelter and school referrals is current and accurate.
- Maintains FTH referral database online on TFHs server.
- Assists the Director of FTH with other projects as needed.
- Daily monitoring of DHS New scheduled Appointments to ensure quota is met.
- Promote a healthy workflow by ensuring department understands duties and by delegating tasks as needed.
- Distribution of Online referrals to department staff as needed.
- Create and/ or update correspondences to ensure FTH team is made aware of any changes to protocols that require implementation.
- Other duties as assigned.
RequirementsBACKGROUND AND EDUCATION:This position requires expertise in computer systems including Microsoft Office applications, Athena Medical Records System, and Online portal and referral systems. A qualified candidate should be able to download information from web pages, put information on spreadsheets, populate spreadsheets with on-line referrals, and generate reports using Excel. The candidate must be comfortable speaking over the phone, in public and addressing large audiences, and have the ability to explain and teach concepts to others through individual follow-up, trainings and presentations. A Bilingual candidate is needed for this position (English/Spanish). A High School diploma is required and Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. The ideal candidate must effectively manage multiple tasks and have excellent writing/grammar skills.COVID-19 Booster and Flu vaccine required.Salary Description $24.73 per hour
