Job Description:
An aerospace/manufacturing client is looking for a Molding Machine Operator that will perform a wide variety of duties throughout the large casting molding and finishing areas. LOCATION: Syracuse, NY 13221 POSITION: Molding Machine Operator CONTRACT: 3 months or longer PAY: $18.31/hr. SHIFT: 1 st shift, M-F, 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform a wide variety of duties throughout the large casting molding and finishing areas. Duties include:
    • Assist the molder, repairing ladles, loading and unloading flasks, bottom boards, and upsets to molding lines.
    • Pour molds, shake out molds, operate automated shake-out machine, core knockout, grinding large castings and operating shot-blast equipment.
    • Transport materials/metal with either gas operated fork truck or hand truck and operate power sweeper.
    • Use all required equipment in grinding such as hand tools, air grinders, air chisels, band saws, etc. to remove fins, parting lines, sprues, risers, gates, surface roughness and all irregularities from castings.
    • Place wheels or abrasive belts on machines and make simple adjustments on machines as required.
    • Patch surface imperfections within Q.C. standards.
    • Refer unusual or questionable situations to proper supervision.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of six (6) months manufacturing experience.
  • Able to read, write, add, subtract, and follow instructions; includes the use and reading of fixed gauges and other instruments not requiring interpretation.
  • Ability to perform considerable physical effort consisting of continuous average and frequent heavy manual effort applied in various ways to perform job requirements.
  • Steel toe shoes required
