We are seeking a driven Middle School Social Studies Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year that operates with a high sense of urgency and possesses a strong work ethic. Candidates for this position do NOT need to speak Hebrew. The School is fully committed to a culturally diverse faculty and student body. The school is eager to consider applications from traditionally underrepresented groups.Job Requirements:Build a classroom culture in which students love Social StudiesProvide clear and consistently high-quality Social Studies instruction for all studentsCreate instructional lesson plans and classroom activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in a meaningful learning experienceManage and support an organized and professional classroom that is conducive to learning.Implement instructional strategies and resources that are aligned with the rigor of the Common Core to meet the needs of all students, including those with varying backgrounds, learning styles and special needsMotivate students to think critically and take ownership over their own learningDrive academic outcomes by analyzing student work and studying data, and implementing high-leverage instructional moves to ensure dramatic gains for all studentsSupport student and school needs in preparing to be successful on the NYS State Exam Develop strong relationships with parents and students to create investment in school culture and academicsMaintain effective and efficient data gathering proceduresMeet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and collaborating effectively with co-teachers and colleaguesA person who believes in the critical importance of diversity in the life of a schoolMinimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required; Masters degree preferredElementary and/or Middle School teaching experience preferredHold NYS certification in content area or working towards certification is preferredExcellent oral and written communication skillsLegally authorized to work in the USACOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Salary and benefits will be highly competitive, equitable, and commensurate with experience.
