JOB SUMMARYTo perform work which involves conventional types of plans, surveys, structures or equipment with relatively few complex features. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Apply the use of standard techniques and theories, precepts and practices in mechanical or electrical engineering, related sciences and disciplines.
  • Maintain full knowledge of company policies and procedures, and published codes and regulations.
  • Size, select and specify major and minor equipment.
  • Perform site surveys and field investigations.
  • Perform engineering calculations.
  • Prepare contract drawings.
  • Adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results and follow operations through a series of related detail steps or processes.
  • Write project specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of project proposals and assure their technical accuracy.
  • Maintain good relationship with clients.
  • Help develop new business with existing and new clients.
  • Make decisions on engineering problems and methods.
  • May assist to represent the company at conferences and meetings to resolve important issues and to plan and coordinate work.
  • Participate in selected presentation to clients, demonstrating the firm's technical credentials.
  • Promote business development efforts.
  • May meet periodically with client project teams to review project progress.
  • Assure that short and long term business goals and objectives are achieved.
  • Write engineering reports.
  • ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESMay supervise or coordinate designers, drafters, technicians and others in assisting with specific assignments. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS Education
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology
    Licensure
    • EIT Certificate Preferred

    Experience
    • 3-5 Years' Experience with a Consulting Engineering Firm
    WORKING CONDITIONSWorking conditions are normal for an office environment and occasional site visits. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Requirements:
    • Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred)
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Mechanical Engineering program
    • 3-5 years' experience working in a consulting engineering firm
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
    • Position requires experience in preparation of contract drawings and specifications, field survey skills, performing calculations, and a thorough knowledge of building codes and standards.
