Mechanical Construction Project ManagerLinkedIn Twitter Email Message ShareConstruction Management/Inspection - FacilitiesNew York, NY*ID: 21372*Full-Time/RegularJohnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is a dynamic, 100% employee-owned consulting firm of more than 2,300 professionals that provides a full range of construction management, multi-disciplined engineering, architecture, information technology, and related services to public agencies and private clients throughout the United States.JMT is seeking a Mechanical Construction Project Manager in the New York Metro area to be responsible for providing construction project oversight using knowledge of general engineering and construction principles and practices to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate and execute assignments as necessary to accomplish the goals and objectives defined by the client; ensuring work is performed and completed in strict accordance with the contract documents; acting as a technical advisor to the Owner and other team members; teaching and mentoring less experienced team members; and, other tasks as may be required..The annual salary range for this position is $140,000.00-$165,000.00.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInterface and maintain excellent relationships with clients, building occupants, architects/engineers, and contractorsManage and coordinate field/inspection staffManage project schedule from inception to close outRun project job-site meetingsReview contractor work in place to ensure compliance with plans and specificationsReview and approve contractor monthly requisitions and invoicesReport on project issues and provide status updatesPerform other duties as may be requiredRequired SkillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsEffective leadership skills for managing and mentoring field staffAbility to take charge and effectively manage contractors to meet project scheduleKnowledge of OSHA safety regulations with 30HR OSHA Safety cardThe ability to work well with others, and willingness to learn in a team environmentAbility to evaluate contractor provided construction CPM schedules, including logic and sequencingStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsStrong work ethic. Willing to do what it takes to get the job doneRequired ExperienceMinimum of seven years of construction experience serving as a Construction Manager, Senior Inspector, Construction Management Representative, Owner's Representative or Construction Superintendent on mechanical or plumbing projectsExperience with building renovation projects and building system repair and restoration projects that involve the active management, oversight and/or inspection of multiple construction trades and close coordination with the Government/Owner on construction issuesOccupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-hour construction safety trainingKnowledge and experience working with the Owner's Project Managers on project costs and budgets, processing change requests, requests for information, submittals, and field observation reportsExperience using construction management software (eBuilder, Procore, etc.) to communicate construction progress and process documentationPreferred ExperienceBachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or Construction ManagementCertified Construction Manager, or Project Management Professional (PMP)Professional Engineering license NY State, or ability to obtain reciprocityExperience on public buildings (public housing) projectsExperience working with NYC local agenciesWorking ConditionsWork is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment. Office to field time is approximately 25% to 75% respectively. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required.
