Material Handler - 2nd Shift

Tracking Code 12246-159 Job Description We are currently seeking a **Material Handler** to join our team in Wayne, NJ. This position will work 2nd shift and the hours can vary based on business need. The successful candidate will work hand in hand with the Finishing Department, ensuring safe practices are followed to achieve quality and productivity goals.

**Job functions will include, but are not limited to:**

* Operates propane or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forks and clamps to lift, stack, or move product, equipment, or materials between loading, processing, and storage areas in a warehouse or factory

* Stages load for transport by stacking, arranging, and securing loads

* Supply production with materials as needed

* Unloads and loads tractor trailers when required

* May manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices

* Tends and replenishes automatic shrink bell

* May inventory materials

* May weigh materials or product and record weight and other production data on tags, labels, or shipping paperwork

* Examines contents and compares with records, such as manifests, invoices, bill of lading, or orders to verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipment

* May enter, transcribe, record, or maintain information in either written form or electronically

* Performs routine inspections on vehicles and auxiliary equipment

* Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills **SKILLS:**

* LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

* MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

* REASONING ABILITY - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

* CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - Company issued Fork Truck Operators License; Company issued Clamp Truck Operators License

Required Experience **BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:**

* Manufacturing experience preferred, along with 2-4 years experience in a similar role

* Must have prior experience operating a forklift

* To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent attendance, be able to work independently and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

**EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:**

* High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
