Our team seeks to understand how consumers think, feel, and behaveon X. Through a combination of ad campaign measurement and market-facing thoughtleadership projects, we use data to uncover who our audiences are and how they reactto advertising. Example recent projects include demonstrating the positive correlationbetween paid media and on-platform share of voice as well as developing new in-housemeasurement solutions, such as device switching.What You'll DoThe Manager, Research - Advertising Research position is for candidates with severalyears of advertising research experience, and who have a bachelor's degree inbehavioral or quantitative social sciences or a related subject. In addition, they have hadapproximately two year's worth of experience managing more junior researchers. Youwill lead a team, with significant autonomy/ownership, that's responsible for deliveringinsights and ad effectiveness measurement. You will own senior internal and externalstakeholder relationships across most US verticals. Consequently, the role will requireclose partnership with several sales vertical leaders and other partner function leads,such as Business Marketing, Legal, Business Development and more. Thesepartnerships will require you to establish and articulate clear points of view on a varietyof topics within the ads measurement space (e.g. MMM, MTA, conversion lift, brand lift,etc.), create and lead prioritized bespoke research for several verticals, coordinateinternal quarterly business reviews across verticals within your purview (as needed),and clearly communicate opportunities and challenges to all primary stakeholders, allwith a high degree of independence. Lastly, you will be responsible for the developmentand growth of your team in their day-to-day campaign measurement work, thoughtleadership efforts, projects and communications with their stakeholders.Who You AreYou have a strong quantitative backgroundYou have experience leading and/or executing the development of researchframeworks to explore a collection of hypothesesYou have experience using statistical techniques to draw insights from data youthen use to make informed recommendationsYou have a client-responsive, customer service mindset; this is a role that blendsanalytical acumen with interpersonal skillYou have experience and strength in maintaining internal and externalrelationships autonomouslyYou are able to simply explain complex concepts to senior stakeholdersYou are a self-starter who takes initiative (e.g., could befriend colleagues outsideof reporting lines in different geographies for knowledge sharing)You can balance the need for quick turnaround with longer-term strategic effortsYou have strong teamwork and collaboration skills (e.g. could manage a project,or broader relationship, with a 3rd-party vendor)You have a passion for consumer internet and social mediaYou have experience managing and/or mentoring more junior researchers inorder to support their professional developmentYou're willing to travel to visit clientsYou're able to navigate ambiguity in a high-paced, startup environmentRequirementsBA/BS degree required, preferably in social sciences, statistics, or relatedquantitative field. Graduate degree preferred7+ years of quantitative media research, market research, or analyticsexperience2+ years of managing/mentoring research analystsExperience using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques to drawinsights from dataExperience with Structured Query Language (SQL) on large-scale data setsExperience using statistical packages (SAS, SPSS, STATA, R, Matlab), orgeneral programming experience is preferred.Prior experience at an insights/analytics vendor, advertising agency, or on an adsales research team is a plus
