Job Purpose

Reporting to the Director of Growth, this person will own and oversee our ad buying on syndicated distribution partners, such as Amazon and Comcast. As part of our in-house paid media buying team, they will also work closely with our Business Development team, including the Director of Device and Digital Platform Partnerships, to manage the strategic deployment of paid advertising funds to maximize efficient subscriber growth. They will also own the testing and deployment of new and opportunistic paid media opportunities with external vendors, outside of always-on channels such as paid social and search.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in paid media, with a strong digital background, and ideally experience in the streaming industry. They will be comfortable managing complex media plans and large (seven-figure) budgets, with a large amount of responsibility for business outcomes. They will be highly data-oriented and detail-focused, with a strong test-and-learn mindset, as well as a natural inclination to make detailed plans while being open to quickly adapting and refining those plans to seek out optimal performance.

They will thrive in a fast-paced, KPI-driven environment and be comfortable being responsible for a business-critical function with high visibility to senior leadership. They aren t afraid to set a high bar for themselves and to work among a team of high performers

Responsibilities:

  • Manage media spend with external syndicated partners such as Amazon and Comcast, providing direction to optimize multi-million-dollar quarterly budgets.
  • Work with external partner teams to design and implement effective paid media strategies, managing the full process from briefing partners on upcoming priorities, to providing feedback on detailed media plans, to monitoring performance closely and collaborating on both tactical optimizations and strategic shifts.
  • Lead messaging and creative strategy for paid partner advertising, as the conduit between external partners and our internal creative team.
  • Manage internal reporting on paid partner advertising, including regularly compiling and presenting reports for senior leadership.
  • Own experimentation with potential new paid media vendors across a variety of different media formats.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Manager level of experience of performance marketing and paid media, ideally in the streaming industry; strong familiarity with the SVOD landscape and media opportunities across TV platforms.
  • Proficient in Performance Marketing and acquisition strategies, particularly within Google Ads/Meta platform, with a demonstrated track record of effectively managing budgets exceeding $100K per month.
  • Direct experience working within the Amazon DSP is highly beneficial.
  • Deep understanding of how to design audience and creative strategies to achieve business goals.
  • Experience working on global teams managing multi-territory campaigns is a bonus.
  • Advanced skills with Excel/Google Sheets and Powerpoint/Google Slides to track, manipulate and present data clearly.

Salary Range: $80 - 95K base salary.

Please note that the salary range is intended to give as an indicator of the salaries that could be attributed to the breadth or experience for a given role. All candidates will be measured based on their level of experience.

We work flexibly at BritBox, to support new markets some work may be conducted outside of US business hours to coordinate with territories in other time zones.
