**Basic Job Function:**
The Maison Kayser Apprentice in Training position is the face of the bakery responsible for offering excellent customer service, maintaining product goods and displays and operating a cash register. In this position, the Apprentice in Training will be responsible for supporting the bakery team to ensure optimal guest experience.
**Tasks/Responsibilities:**
* Preparing and setup stock daily
* Smile and be attentive to your surroundings at all times
* Execute service to our guests by following the Maison Kayser standards and steps of service
* Maintain product knowledge, and answer all guest questions as they are asked
* Anticipate daily inventory needs: work with the Head Baker to replenish product as needed for customer purchases
* Maintain the cleanliness of Bakery/Restaurant, including all shelving and storage drawers that are at the workstation; complete all daily tasks assigned by leadership
* Ensure mise-en-place in the Bakery is performed to the required standard assigned by the Manager
* Immediately inform a Manager of any guest complaints, even if actively working on a solution for the problem
* Comply with any reasonable instruction from Supervisors and to work at all times toward achieving the highest possible standards
* Comply with and fully understand all NYC & Maison Kayser food safety and sanitation guidelines
* Maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and presentation, including dress code, appearance, hat/gloves, etc.
**Minimum Requirements:**

* Must have a can do work ethic and the ability to handle a fast-paced environment
* Previous exposure to high-pressure situations and a demonstrated ability to communicate needs and progress/status during rush periods
* Passion for food and restaurant operations: previous experience in an F&B environment is not required for the right candidate
* Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job function consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards
* Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
* Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs.
* Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours)
**Education and Experience:**
* High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
