Maintenance Manager

We are working with a leading Gluten Free Manufacturer distributing nationwide to all retailers and food service providers. The company aims to strengthen its brand and reach growing groups of people looking for healthier lifestyle foods. They are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to provide technical direction and leadership to the maintenance team. This person will oversee the facility, layout and machinery to make sure that all are running to their maximum efficiency.

Location: Orange County, NY

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the site Maintenance team of 5+ mechanics in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.
  • Responsible for planned scheduling creation and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out.
  • Increase the maintenance operational effectiveness; improve on project delivery, downtime reduction.
  • Manage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst mentoring and leading the department.
  • Propose and implement work processes, procedures and technical resources related to improving equipment reliability.
  • Maintain competencies, motivation, and performance to achieve the site targets and objectives.
  • Ensure that there exists within the maintenance team an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations..
  • Build successful interaction between production, quality, sanitation and warehouse teams in equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure that the technical integrity and availability of equipment complies with all regulations.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ideal experience- working with Manufacturing and packaging machines
  • Prior mechanical experience with bakery machinery is a plus
  • Must have managerial and leadership experience.
  • Must have prior experience managing a maintenance team, ideally within a food manufacturing plant.
  • Excellent communication and team interaction skills.
  • Must be a self-starter who effectively manages multiple tasks under time and cost pressure; assigns appropriate priorities to competing interests; and achieves results with minimal supervision.
