Join us and make an impact each day you work at Masonite!OverviewA Maintenance Lead is responsible for maintaining the integrity of Tier 1 and 2 Boards data and information. Also, assist the Supervisor with assessing team member development needs and developing training plans. They will cover repairs to our equipment and facility and be responsible for repairing, updating, improving and preventive maintenance for the grounds, building, and equipment. They will maintain an orderly, efficient, and safe maintenance shop with required maintenance tools to do the routine maintenance and preventative maintenance activities.What you will do:
  • Strong, relentless, and consistent focus on safety.
  • Conduct routine Gemba walks, performing inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Performing preventative maintenance, using lean principles to enhance machine and process availability.
  • Handling basic repairs and maintenance on equipment and throughout facility.
  • Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
  • Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
  • Ability to lift to 50+lbs
What you will need:
  • Preferably one year experience in manufacturing setting
  • HS Diploma or GED preferred
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Related degree from a technical college, preferred.
  • Must work at a fast pace, fast pace and physically demanding environment.
  • Strong eye/hand coordination
  • Standing for long continuous hours
  • Constant attention to detail
  • Understanding or lean principles
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Proven maintenance experience, such as repairs associated with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical systems.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to check/read blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • Forklift, man lift and associated safety equipment experience, preferred.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • CNC equipment experience preferred.
  • Software and program loading experience preferred.
  • Welding and metal fabrication experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, follow up, and communication skill and extreme eye for detail.
  • Strong time management skills, maintaining an active work list and timely completion of work items.
