Mailroom Clerk Spring Valley, NY $18/Hour The Mailroom Clerk will ensure the processing of incoming and outgoing mail in a timely manner. They are responsible for the management of the Printout email inbox where they will print off appeals, medical records requests and any other outgoing items for the insurance companies that need to be mailed. Responsibilities:
- Sort incoming mail
- Scan to appropriate person/entity
- Ensure outgoing mail documents are prepared and other shipping items in a timely manner.
- Patient statements
- HCF forms are mailed out
- Manage printout email inbox - all documents requests from insurance company
- Prepare documents and other items for shipping.
- Weighs mail and calculates correct postage.
- Performs other related and miscellaneous duties necessary for the efficient operation of the team as assigned
Qualifications:
- Able to use sorting and postage meter machines.
- Good computer skills a plus
- Ability to work under pressure.
Will also need to be able to fill in for office workers if/when they don't show up. Must be able to:
- Separate incoming Insurance checks into appropriate accounts then deposits
- Update daily account files with checks received/deposited for IWS (Innovative Work Solution)
- Ensure posting of checks were done correctly by IWS
- Upload EOB and check to Smartsheet
- Process any patient checks received by mail then ensure they are deposited and posted
- Process credit card transactions that are received by mail and then ensure they are posted
- Review Smartsheet for posting accuracy and updated
- Performs other related and miscellaneous duties necessary for the efficient operation of the team as assigned
- Answer incoming calls
- Answer patient questions regarding billing
- Handling customer complaints
- Follow up with customer calls
- Return all voicemail calls and any calls required by Account manager
