Job Title: Logistics Coordinator/Business DevelopmentCompany/Industry: Well-established freight forwarderLocation: Proximity to Lake Success, NYSalary: $50-65k/yr, inclusive of benefitsStatus:Direct hire, FT, On-SiteEssential DutiesCoordinate and expedite the delivery of material in the most efficient and cost-effective mannerCommunicate with our customers with the latest updates on their shipmentArrange import /export clearance and tariff classification for customs house brokers /forwarders/nvocc/consolidators/carriersKnowledge of routing material according to customer's request (may include drayage, trans-load/warehouse, etc.)Investigate, resolve, and document any shipment discrepancies, analyze and suggest improvementsGathers vendor invoices and verify charges in order to schedule paymentQuote rates and calculate costs of goods to be moved based on weight, volume, and transit mode/distanceEvaluate and process insurance claims if requiredDevelop new business and new business opportunities by working with managementQualificationsDemonstrated knowledge of SAP/OPUS, claims, supply chains, Customs & Border Patrol (CBP) and compliance/FMC/PGA sRequires in-depth knowledge of the supply chain/logistics processes and current best practicesExcellent oral and written communication skillsA minimum of 5 years' import/export experience in the logistics fieldMust be proficient in Microsoft Office, at least intermediary level, experience using SAP a plusCompensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 Per Year
