Candidates should possess a strong understanding of how various social media platforms function and how to develop content that engages those specific audiences. The position requires strong writing and editing skills, ability to create content for publication across multiple platforms, and ability to manage communications projects in a variety of formats. The position requires attention to detail and quality standards and skill in maintaining good working relationships with colleagues.Duties generally include research, writing/creating, and editing social media and news stories. Other duties could include work on news releases, brochures, reports, exhibits, and multi-media. The selected candidate will work under the direction of other colleagues and will work closely with project managers, writers, editors, digital content producers, and designers. The selected candidate must follow NREL editorial style, comply with NREL and DOE print and electronic publication policies, ensure high-quality products, and be comfortable interacting with external stakeholders.This position is eligible for up to 40 hours a week in summer and for recent graduates, and will also consider up to 25 hours per week during semestersBasic QualificationsMinimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.Undergraduate: Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a bachelor's degree program from an accredited institution. Post Undergraduate: Earned a bachelor's degree within the past 12 months. Eligible for an internship period of up to one year.Graduate: Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a master's degree program from an accredited institution. Post Graduate: Earned a master's degree within the past 12 months. Eligible for an internship period of up to one year.Graduate + PhD: Completed master's degree and enrolled as PhD student from an accredited institution.
