Join Watermark Retirement Communities and James Beard Award winning chef Stephan Pyles as we collaborate on his new restaurant concept Alma. We are looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to help lead our Front of House team to make Alma central Texas' new destination restaurant. As Restaurant Manager you will have the opportunity to work closely with Chef Pyles as he brings his special flare to this new concept.
Located in Georgetown, TX., just outside the capital city of Austin, Alma is the long anticipated restaurant of Chef Stephan Pyles' award winning cuisine to the area. Come join our team as Restaurant Manager and learn from Chef Pyles and make Alma central Texas' best restaurant.
What you will need for this position:
Responsibilities:
* Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
* Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
* Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
* Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions
* Clean up station and take care of leftover food
* Stock inventory appropriately
* Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
* Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
* Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Requirements and skills:
* Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook
* Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
* Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
* Familiar with industry's best practice
