Lighting Technician

This role is responsible for providing custom lighting installation within our main track and small projects. This includes managing installations, upgrades, troubleshooting and testing. The Lighting Technician works directly with the Systems Designer and Project Manager on all matters pertaining to work being performed on the projects and is responsible for the best practices and daily execution of lighting installation tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Programming of Lutron, Savant, and/or Crestron lighting control systems.

Participate in the design process with the Design and Engineering teams to ensure desired system functionality.

Develop a schedule to complete the required programming tasks including preliminary programming, panel layouts, and final programming for main track projects.

Perform system implementation tasks including testing, identifying keypads and on-site final programming and troubleshooting.

Meet with clients and lighting designers to establish scenes, determine lighting levels, and verify design.

Continuously refine and maintain mechanisms for efficient re-use of programming code required to interface with system components.

Maintain a high degree of technical familiarity with residential technology systems including components, controllers, lighting, networks, mobile computing devices, etc. to enable rapid integration and configuration of systems.

Support the installation of lighting and shading solutions, including prewire, trim, final and programming.

Must understand AV floorplans, wire schedules, elevations & schematics

Deep understanding of Lighting and shading solution signal flow and best practices.

Attends industry specific training and stays current on technologies and techniques.

Train other personnel as needed on lighting-based technician job duties

Maintain standard project documentation for all project phases, share with the Project Manager and Project Coordinator.

Adhere to the ever-changing landscape of each project including project change orders and project needs.

Perform basic troubleshooting using various software and testing tools.

Report any critical items or new developments to the assigned Project Manager.

Accountable for on-site Lighting Inventory (includes products, gear, test equipment and tools).

JOB REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma/GED

Must have familiarity with industry-based lighting fixtures. Including knowledge of LEDs, 0 10-volt DMX along with other lighting standards and terminology.

Excelled knowledge of how to design, install, and program lighting control systems within home integration to act as a subject matter expert.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Cloud Applications, and any other applicable office software. ConnectWise Experience a Plus.

Capable of performing special physical requirements (i.e., able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and 100 pounds. assisted; frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, or stand for extended periods of time; reach at, above and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck; have excellent hand/finger dexterity and specific vision abilities including color, close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision, depth perception.
