About the Opportunity:

Chelsea Piers is seeking to hire a Lead Preschool Teacher to join our CP Kids Team. This role reports to the Director of CP Kids and works closely with the teaching team and entire CP Kids staff. The Lead Preschool Teacher will work Monday - Friday, all year. The start date will be July 2024.

As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you will be expected to:

  • Create and implement curriculum
  • Individualize curriculum to meet the needs of all students
  • Communicate using a variety of platforms with families and CP Kids community
  • Manage and lead a teaching team
  • Assess and guide the growth of children in your classroom
  • Build a classroom based on kindness, community, and exploration
  • Possess a strong understanding of the developmental needs of young children
  • Work closely and supportively with assistant teachers, parents, and colleagues
  • Be active and able to run, dance, and play on the floor with children

About You:

You are punctual, dependable, professional, and organized. You are creative and nurturing and willing to work as part of a team. You possess strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. You have a passion for early childhood education.

You will have:

  • NYS Department of Education Initial Certification: Birth - Grade 2, or recent graduate with pending certification
  • Master's degree or coursework toward master's degree in early education preferred
  • Prior experience teaching children 2 - 5 years old preferably in mixed-age settings
  • Excellent references

Additional Information:

  • Study Plan Eligible if already attending master's program in early education
