Role Overview
The Data Lead will play a pivotal role in building out the company's alternative data platform to enhance trading strategies and market insights. This individual will be responsible for sourcing, cleaning, validating, and managing alternative datasets, empowering the team to make data-driven decisions
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the development and implementation of the company's centralized alternative data platform
- Collaborating with the core team to integrate alternative datasets into trading strategies
- Sourcing, cleaning, and validating alternative data from a variety of vendors and formats
- Working closely with research teams to scope and analyze new datasets for portfolio optimization
- Partnering with Quantitative developers and Software Engineers to ensure seamless integration of data into trading systems
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in math, physics, engineering, bioinformatics, or related field
- Extensive experience working with alternative data and diverse datasets
- Financial experience is not required
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead technical projects and teams
- Fluency in both technical and analytical aspects of data processing with a desire to implement as well as lead
- Proven track record of successfully scaling Alternative data platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python or Java
- Experience working with disparate data
- Financial experience is a plus but not required
