Overview:

Serves the firm as a trusted advisor by fulfilling the activities related to the recruiting and hiring of lateral associate attorneys including managing relationships with legal search firms, reviewing, and indexing candidate submissions, scheduling interviews and leading onboarding efforts. This role collaborates with and supports the Director of Lateral Associate Recruiting and the Lateral Associate Recruiting Manager in their efforts to develop and implement effective, strategic approaches to lateral associate recruiting across all U.S. offices.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinates lateral associate hiring efforts across all U.S. offices. Works directly with the Director of Lateral Associate Recruiting and the Lateral Associate Recruiting Manager to ensure the team is aligned to and meets practice groups hiring goals.

2. Responsible for maintaining data quality and accuracy in the candidate tracking system, LawCruit, for all lateral associate candidates. Ensures timely access to information and data by conducting quality assurance checks. Assists Legal Recruiting Department Leadership by exporting and analyzing data to collect statistical metrics related to lateral associate recruiting

3. Manage the communications in the firms Associate Recruiting inbox to maintain existing relationships with legal search firms, organize the submission of lateral associate referrals from internal sources, resolve questions around submission authorization, and ensure that any duplicate submissions are handled efficiently.

4. Engages in all aspects of lateral associate recruiting, including strategic recruiting approaches for individual candidates, updating Practice Group Leaders and other applicable partners regarding candidate status, generating, and updating lateral associate pipeline reports, and organizing the interview schedules for lateral associate candidates. Assists in producing initial searches for and sourcing of lateral associate candidates.

5. Manages interview process, including but not limited to scheduling, greeting, and communicating with candidates. Facilitates the decision-making process and candidate follow-up initiatives, including proactively collecting, consolidating, and circulating interview feedback regarding candidates as instructed by the Director of Lateral Associate Recruiting. Producing offer letters as Directed by the Director of Lateral Associate Recruiting and arranging after-offer-meetings for lateral associates who have received offers.

6. Oversees internal and external background and conflict check research process for lateral associate candidates. Serve as liaison to background check service provider.

7. Manages the onboarding process, working collaboratively with all applicable business support departments to ensure effective onboarding and integration of lateral associate hires. Coordinates with practice group administration to ensure that all procedures required before the start of a new attorneys has been completed.

8. Work with the Director and Manager of Lateral Associate Recruiting to gather and analyze market intelligence and identify recruiting trends and other information regarding the status of the job market for lateral associate recruiting.

9. Assists with efforts to achieve diversity hiring goals, including maintaining tracking charts for diverse lateral associate candidates.

10. Represents the firm through participation in legal recruiting industry organization events.

11. Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Lateral Associate Recruiting.

Qualifications:
  • A bachelors degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 5 years of administrative assistant experience, preferably in a law firm, legal recruiting department, career services office or a professional services firm, is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database programs (e.g., LawCruit, iCIMs)
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.

The anticipated pay range for this role is Boston/DC: $69,000 - $103,000, NY: $72,500 - $108,000 which represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

Working Conditions:

This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
