Job Overview

Actinium is seeking an experienced and skilled laboratory research associate to actively support the Company s promising R&D strategy for the development of novel cancer radiotherapeutic agents and related technology. The qualified individual will have 3 to 5 years prior experience in an academic or industry lab setting performing in vitro and in vivo experimental research studies. The candidate in this role is expected to support preclinical drug discovery and pharmacology studies in rodents and be proficient in oncology animal models

Duties and responsibilities

  • Perform IACUC approved small animal experiments including in vivo mouse cancer models
  • Administer drugs by multiple routes including IV, IP and SC
  • Tumor volume and body weight measurements, tissue and blood collection
  • Mouse monitoring and housekeeping (e.g. cage changing)
  • Assist with ordering of reagents and laboratory supplies
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies; coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs as needed
  • Ensure that safe laboratory practices are followed, including the use and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials
  • Collect data, prepare and maintain detailed records in a laboratory notebook
  • Write protocols and study summary reports
  • Communicate study findings to team and management

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job are:

  • Bachelor of Science degree: Biology, pharmacology or related field
  • 3-5 years of lab research experience
  • Experience handling small animals and in vivo procedures is required
  • Experience in the handling and use of radioactive material is desirable
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture is desirable
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team setting
