Global X ETFs, the New York-based provider of Exchange Traded Funds and Great Place to Work Certified company, is seeking an experienced Junior Trader to join our recently formed cross-assets global trading team, working alongside Portfolio Managers in overseeing the trading of our funds, with a total AUM of $40 billion invested globally and across asset classes. The trading team reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with Portfolio Managers to ensure that trading operations are in line with respective funds investment objectives and in the best interests of shareholders. The Team will also be in charge of building the necessary infrastructure and reporting functions to support trading operations across different strategies and asset classes. The trading team acts as a primary point of contact, managing the relationships with various desks at global bulge brackets banks and also boutique trading firms to service the funds trading needs. This role offers high visibility and impact as well as a unique opportunity to contribute to the further expansion of the Global X ETF platform and fuel its next stage of growth.

Key Responsibilities

Support global trading operations across Global X ETFs by working with the Head of Trading to enhance trading process by creating visibility and flexibility:

• Learn the trading process currently in place and work with Head of Trading to enhance and improve processes with coding and data management skills
• Support Head of Trading as needed to build out the necessary infrastructure, processes, and risk framework to trade other asset classes as required by Portfolio Managers and each fund s investment mandate
• Build an understanding of trading strategies deployed by Global X and identify areas for potential enhancement
• Develop a deep understanding of the ETF processes that provide specific market exposures and tax efficiencies, such as creation/redemption activity and custom in-kind processes
• Utilize your knowledge of global equity markets and market structure to improve fund outcomes.
• Effectively apply the use of derivatives in the management of certain ETFs
• Support new initiatives in further expanding our trading capabilities

Build relationships with brokers and other market participants to understand the best execution, source liquidity, and support additional initiatives. Transaction Costs Analysis ( TCA ) Best Execution:

• Work with the Head of Trading to create pre-trade analysis with insights on expected cost/slippage
• Provide close monitoring of TCA including trading commissions and fees, slippage against benchmark index, implementation shortfall, etc. on a daily basis to determine performance impact to the fund, fulfill reporting obligations, and develop optimal trading strategies for subsequent trade activities
• Support and contribute to the development and maintenance of key trading infrastructure, including trading systems and reporting packages

Collaborate across internal functions to ensure proper operational support for investment activities:

• Work closely with Portfolio Management team to provide trading feedback and develop an understanding of optimal trading strategies for each of the funds in line with investment objectives
• Work closely with Portfolio Administration team to resolve trade exceptions and settlement issues
• Work closely with Capital Markets team to maintain rapport and working relationships with market participants: brokers, authorized participants, market makers, and others
• Maintain broad knowledge and awareness of key industry developments and trends, including with respect to emerging investment themes.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree from a leading university, ideally in quantitative field
• 3-5 years financial industry experience with 2+ years of direct trading experience
• Experience with global trading, Delta One, cross assets, and emerging and frontier market trading a plus.
• Experience trading exchange traded derivatives and fixed income instruments preferred.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
• Enthusiasm and ability to work independently; attention to detail, communication and teamwork skills, ability to be organized and manage multiple disparate tasks.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, Python, SQL preferred

The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000. In addition, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and competitive benefits package.
