The IT Specialist (senior position) will provide technical assistance and assessment of designated NYS OMH facilities via the NYS ITS NetworkSite Consultation process. This will include but not limited to circuit bandwidth, Voice Over IP (VoIP) phone system upgrades and wireless upgrades. The position will require travel to complete the physical site assessments. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Equipment installation, relocation and removal. Work on VOIP phones, WAPS, and data communications equipment for supporting the NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH). Participate in the planning and execution of all phases of project including: request analysis, site surveys, site preparation, cable trouble-shooting and installation, asset management, inventory control, and network assistance. Job Qualification 5 years of experience installing/troubleshooting PCs and Printers. 5 years of experience installing/troubleshooting servers. 1 year of experience installing/troubleshooting VOIP phones. 5 years of experience installing/troubleshooting data communications equipment. 5 years of experience conducting technical site surveys. 5 years of experience in data cable installation/troubleshooting. 3 years of experience conducting inventory control. 3 years of experience in desktop support.
