To learn more about Berry, visit Responsibilities Position Summary The Quality Systems Supervisor is responsible for the development, implementation, review, management and maintenance of the quality management and food safety programs, including ISO, HACCP, and Safe Quality Food (SQF). Essential Functions Oversee the development, implementation, review, management, and maintenance of the facility's ISO 9001 quality management system Oversee the development, implementation, review, management, and maintenance of the facility's Food Packaging Safety Programs including SQF Systems. Must follow and comply with all ISO 9001:2015, ASI - Food Safety established requirements. The authority & responsibility to promote the awareness of customer requirements & expectations throughout the organization. Communicate to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF System. Ensure SQF training is conducted for required team members within the facility. Coordinates & Schedules the management review meetings. Facilitate the plant quality internal audit programs and follow-up on any findings. Take appropriate action to maintain the integrity of the SQF System. Validate changes to Food Packaging Safety Fundamentals and HACCP Plan that have an impact on the ability to deliver safe, quality food packaging. Responsible for the validation and verification of the following SQF requirements: Pre-requisite programs / Critical control points / Critical packaging safety limits / Monitoring activities / Sampling, inspection, an analysis for FPS / Schedule and lead internal audits for FPS Act as the liaison with Regulatory Auditors relating to plant certifications such as ISO 9001 and other certifications involving the Quality Management System. Able to perform all functions of the Quality Assurance Analyst and Technician positions to support staffing needs. Performs various other duties as assigned by Quality Assurance Manager Qualifications Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and possess adequate computer skills. Education and/or Experience B.A./B.S. from a four-year college or university, or two to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, specifications, standards, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports or correspondence Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one, small or large group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to write up fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions. Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, determine cause and effect relationships, and draw valid conclusions that prompt appropriate action Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in word, mathematical, or diagram form. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment. The office environment is generally climate controlled, well lighted and has a low noise level. This individual will also be required to spend varying amounts of time interacting with employees in a production environment. The production environment will at times contain fumes and airborne particles. The noise level in the production environment is usually loud.
