Jefferies Debt Advisory & Restructuring Group is one of the leading franchises providing capital structure advisory and capital markets solutions to companies, creditors, financial sponsors, and other stakeholders through a wide variety of transactions including transitional and distressed debt / equity financings (DIPs/exits/rescues), liability management (e.g., exchange offers), recapitalizations, in- and out-of-court restructurings, and special situations M&A. The team of 50 professionals regularly partners with industry coverage teams across all verticals, including Technology, Healthcare, Consumer and Retail, Industrials, Financial Institutions, Energy and Power, and Real Estate, among others. Named as one of 5 investment banking Power Players in the field by WSJ, the team has been among the most active on the Street completing 300+ assignments representing over $475 billion in liabilities since 2007.

POSITION:

The successful candidate will be an Associate in our New York office managing transaction execution activities and business development opportunities relating to our advisory services to distressed companies and their stakeholders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage company and creditor transaction advisory engagements
  • Collaborate in developing and executing solutions to meet client needs
  • Assist in leading discussions with senior client executives and creditor representatives
  • Work on several projects simultaneously with lean deal teams
  • Develop professional network and relationships within firm
  • Oversee target research

REQUIRED BACKGROUND:

  • Strong preference for candidate to have at least 3 years of prior work experience in (i) Restructuring, (ii) M&A/Leveraged Finance, and / or (iii) credit related experience
  • Advanced accounting, finance, financial modeling, and analytical abilities, with a strong understanding of capital structures
  • Independent thinker and a resourceful problem solver driven to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent oral and written communicator
  • Team player that has demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all levels

The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $225,000.
