Mason Alexander is running a search to hire an associate for a dynamic investment firm in New York. Our client is the global source of strategic portfolio finance for investors in private equity, having raised $12bn+ in cumulative capital and invested across 100+ investments. They invest via preferred equity and NAV loans to top-tier private equity funds, management companies and limited partners across North America.

Job Summary and Responsibilities:

Work as part of a dynamic team in a fast-growing organization and market responsible for originating, underwriting, executing, and monitoring investments across both preferred equity and NAV loan transactions.

Key Associate responsibilities include: building complex financial models used to evaluate investment opportunities, preparing and presenting investment memoranda for senior team members, supporting origination efforts and deal structuring / negotiation, and working with cross functional teams to contribute to the due diligence process.

General Qualifications and Requirements:

• Two to three years of experience in investment banking, leveraged finance, asset management, consulting / advisory, and/or equivalent experience;
• Robust analytical and financial modelling skills, with strong attention to detail;
• Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative working relationships across the organization;
• Ability to manage workflow in a fast-paced environment;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Eagerness to take on responsibility; and
• Can demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
