The eCampus Center in the Division of Extended Studies is enthusiastically seeking candidates for the position of Instructional Design Consultant/Research & Retention Analyst . Reporting to the Assistant Director, this position provides varying levels of leadership and management in the design, development, revision, and support of online courses and programs. The Instructional Design Consultant (IDC) side of the position is assigned as lead for instructional design projects. Additionally, the IDC coordinates with stakeholders to ensure project goals are met on time and within specifications. New online courses are developed in two models. The first is the craft model with the IDC serving as a consultant to faculty developers. In the course production model, the IDC serves as project lead for multi-expert teams completing online course design and development projects. The Research and Retention side of the position coordinates and informs management/design teams of e-learning research & design processes, uses learning analytics to analyze instructor and student feedback/learning data to identify issues and recommend changes in online courses, and provides faculty support with research studies for online course design and delivery. You will have the opportunity to: Provide individual faculty consultations and provide assistance to: Create clear and measurable learning objectives. Align course activities, learning materials, and assessments with learning objectives. Design and redesign courses for online delivery modes. Design and structure course content, learning activities and assessments. Design, create and deploy multimedia and interactive learning objects such as screencasts, vodcasts, podcasts, web resources and third-party instructional materials. Lead or work within a multi-expert team to design and develop online courses. Assist with creation and maintenance of tutorials, tools and templates. Assist in all facets of collecting and analyzing meaningful data that predicts online student success and at risk behaviors. Define and implement processes and methods of collecting data and translating findings into recommendations for improving online course design and delivery. Collaborate with faculty and staff in analyzing data using standard quantitative and statistical procedures to improve online student success and retention. Assist faculty with research projects and implementation of data-driven practices in the design and delivery of online courses and programs to support student success and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
