Job Description:

Eckstrom NYC offers a unique approach to property development with an emphasis on modern detail and innovative solutions to create a bespoke, high-quality product for the new generation of New York City dwellers. We are currently looking for an In-House Architect who is passionate about the impact of design on people s lives and thrives on developing architectural solutions to complex problems. You will be collaborative and proactive with strong analytical skills and the ability to create designs from exploration and the exchange of ideas. You will be committed to the advancement of technology, building performance and sustainability strategies in design and construction.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified architect who is able to construct clear diagrams using AutoCAD. This candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of all steps related to project completion and diligently communicate with necessary people to ensure timely execution. This candidate should also be able to conduct quality assurance checks on a frequent basis in order to ensure regulations are being followed.

You will be responsible for:

Producing detailed layouts and building designs for each new building, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials/systems

Preparing construction documents, lighting plans and mechanical plans for each building, coordinating with Project Managers to finalize all materials and systems

Integrating engineering elements into unified designs for each building

Taking accurate measurements on site for each new building and incorporating these into as-built plans and subsequent plan amendments.

Coordinating with external architects and engineers helping to oversee the successful

completion of projects at existing buildings

Utilizing computer assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans

Collaborating with architect of record and expeditors to ensure plans are submitted accurately and working together to obtain approvals

Lead all Landmark Preservation (LPC) applications, working with LPC Consultants to ensure documentation is accurate and submitted correctly. Conducting weekly meetings and following up to ensure approvals are obtained.

Assisting in research and coordination of materials and finishes for project specifications

Conducting site evaluations to ensure quality of work and adherence to safety standards

Initiating periodic meetings and other forms of communication with project team

members and/or architects/engineers as appropriate, to acquaint them with unresolved

problems and to ensure coordination and completion by all parties

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in architecture

10 + years of professional experience in architecture and design preferably in the residential industry in New York City

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop/Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office suite

Understanding of knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, building construction, building systems and site requirements

Experience in construction, restoration, or townhouse renovations

Strong organizational and project management skills

High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment

Forward thinking with the ability to streamline and enhance processes

Excellent oral and written communication skills with a collaborative teamwork style

Self-disciplined and able to work under indirect supervision

Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to work outside comfort zone and acquire new skills

Strong interest in real estate
