Job Title: HVAC Technician
Location: Freeport, NY
Type: Permanent
Pay Rate: $80k - $83k/Annual
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting, servicing, troubleshooting and repairing commercial HVAC units including the tools and test instruments used in these processes.
- Recommend additional repairs, as necessary, by entering work orders and parts needed into tablet/system.
- Filter changes and belts, and evaluating unit to determine proper working conditions.
- Submit documentation timely, including time sheets.
- Available to work overtime, on-call (with advance notice) and weekends, when required.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Must be a dependable person who is willing to learn new tasks and is a team player.
- Working within the 5 boroughs (mostly Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens), occasionally. on Long Island as east as Riverhead, and up to Westchester on occasion.
- Follow safety guidelines at all times, including ladder safety.
Job Qualifications include:
- Commercial HVAC/R experience 5+ years (service and maintenance)
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record/acceptable MVR
- Demonstrates strong organizational, customer service and time management skills
- Technical training in HVAC a plus
- EPA/Universal Certification required
- New York City Burner's Permit a plus but must receive during work
- OSHA Certified (#10, 30, etc.) a plus but must receive during work
- Have their own hand tools
- Ability to lift/carry up to 75 lbs. and climb ladders
- Availability to work regular weekday hours, overtime, weekend schedules, some holidays, occasional overnight shifts, and on-call schedule
- Excellent communication skills verbal and written with customers and co-workers
