Position: HR Manager for Retail Stores

As the HR Manager for Retail Stores, you will be responsible for overseeing all human resources functions within our retail organization. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and interpersonal skills to support our employees and drive the company's objectives forward.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to resolve conflicts or concerns.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints or grievances and take appropriate action to address issues.
  • Promote a positive work culture through employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and team-building activities.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs within the organization and develop training programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Coordinate onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring they receive proper training and support to succeed in their roles.
  • Facilitate career development opportunities and succession planning to retain top talent and promote internal advancement.

Performance Management:

  • Implement performance management processes to set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and evaluate employee performance.
  • Work with managers to establish performance goals and objectives aligned with company objectives.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching to improve individual and team performance as needed.

HR Administration:

  • Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, timekeeping records, and HR databases.
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to wage and hour laws, EEOC guidelines, and safety regulations.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including enrollment, administration, and communication.

Strategic Planning:

  • Partner with senior management to develop HR strategies that support the company's overall business objectives.
  • Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with organizational goals and legal requirements.

Recruitment and Selection:

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent for various retail positions.
  • Coordinate the recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions.
  • Collaborate with department managers to forecast staffing needs and plan for future hiring.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
  • Previous experience in HR management, preferably in a retail or multi-unit environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time position based in NY
  • Some travel may be required to visit retail locations within the region.

NEW YORK PAY RATE: $115,000/yr - $125,000/yr
