POSITION OVERVIEW: The Human Resources Manager provides overall HR leadership for Berry Global, Inc. site operations in Franklin, IN. This position will develop, implement, and manage company policies and procedures; manage all functional areas within Human Resources to include but not limited to recruitment & retention, employee engagement, organizational development, compensation & benefit administration and staffing; keep plant management team informed of changes in employment law as well as ensure legal compliance; make recommendations that encompass trends and new developments within the HR profession; and make decisions that are in the best interest of the employees & the business. This position reports directly to the CPI Healthcare North America HR Director & has a strong business partnership with the Plant Manager. Responsibilities Partners with Franklin Plant Manager to align the efforts of HR department with operational goals Ensure Berry Global employee relations principles are properly communicated and understood Maintain a workforce which is enthusiastic, team oriented and committed to furthering Berry's mission. Interpret and apply Human Resources policies; aligns business goals with HR policies Manage recruitment, compensation, diversity, performance management, employee training and development. Develop, coordinate, and conduct HR training programs. Responsible for assisting plant management in implementing safety programs and educating associates about safety. Acts as Management's liaison with the workforce and fosters ongoing excellent associate/management relations; recommends common sense and equitable solutions to associate problems; anticipates and advises management of potential associate related problems. Responsible for promoting and maintaining equal employment opportunity in the workforce on a regular and consistent basis; stays abreast of EEO regulatory changes and monitors the workplace for deviations and/or EEO related problems. Supervises Human Resources staff, as necessary; provides training and development opportunities for all levels of associates. Counsel employees, supervisors, and managers on matters of company policy and disciplinary measures. Consult with managers to attract and retain top performers in our work force. Assist Plant Manager and HR Director, as appropriate. Coordinate performance and salary review process. Manage payroll and HR automated systems. Manage Human Resources data retention process. Provide support for HR activities such as continuous improvement initiatives, affirmative action plan, integration, staffing and resource planning, etc. Champions & facilitates employee engagement teams to promote positive employee relations; promotes and encourages employee participation. Qualifications 5-7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience. Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
