LOOKING FOR REAL ESTATE LITIGATION PARALEGAL OR REAL ESTATE LITIGATION LEGAL SECRETARY WITH AUTONOMY AS THE POSITION INVOLVES INTERACTING WITH CLIENTS, COURTS, CITY MARSHALS AND PROCESS SERVERS AS WELL AS DOCUMENT PREPERATION.
A boutique, real estate focused law firm in mid-town Manhattan is looking for an experienced Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join its growing team. In this role, you will be an integral part of a close-knit team that handles commercial landlord/tenant matters on a national basis. Hours are Mon-Fri; 9am-5pm; Hybrid (Mon-Thu) and Home (Fri).
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Bachelor s Degree, or comparable experience preferred
Three (3) years of previous experience in Commercial Landlord/Tenant Litigation and Transactions required
Paralegal Certificate is not necessary, but a plus
Experience with document control and e-filing with state and federal courts
Experience in real estate litigation, and management of high-volume of cases
Able to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Able to handle pressure, interruptions, and multiple projects with frequently changing priorities and deadline
Able to perform legal research, in-depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles
Ability to analyze legal documents and ensure accuracy
Exceptional organization; and Written and Verbal Communication skills
Interact professionally with clients, attorneys, paralegals, secretaries, all other staff, and other representatives outside of the firm
Able to work effectively and professionally with colleagues, clients and opposing parties
Able to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
Good organizational skills; detail-oriented; and good interpersonal skills

Able to merge files and databases, and the ability to conduct on-line research of public offices for tax, recording, zoning and other information
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Under the direction and supervision of the real estate attorneys, this position will assist attorneys in various aspects of commercial real estate litigation and transactions including:
Schedule and maintain calendar of hearings, appointments, depositions, meetings, and deadlines
Liaise between departments, clients, real estate professionals, as well as opposing counsel and government employees
Correspond with clients and organizations, in writing, by telephone or electronic communications, as directed by the supervising attorney
Prepare of initial draft documents for attorney s review, including demands, notices, petitions, final orders, correspondences and pleadings, such as complaints, subpoenas, interrogatories, deposition notices
Prepare exhibits and assistance with document assembly to file with various courts
Perform electronic research using Westlaw, Lexis and Internet
Perform electronic filings in State and Federal Courts
Coordinate evictions with the Marshal s office to ensure that evictions run smoothly and according to plan
Prepare documents for discovery proceedings
Prepare Interview binders for upcoming depositions
Review deposition transcripts in preparation for trials
Organize documents and coordinate document productions
Conduct bates-stamping, redaction, duplication and indexing of documents
Create and organize appendices, briefs, index, and preparation of table of authorities, and table of content
Proofread, edit, and cite check briefs and affidavits
Monitor receipt of documents from Secretary of State, process servers, court reporters, and clients
Prepare litigation report of all active cases for each attorney for internal weekly meetings
Maintain and organize database and file
Identify problematic workflow areas and implement processes to improve efficiencies, organization, and productivity
