Job Description:

CFS has partnered with a higher education organization who is seeking an HR Specialist to join their team ASAP! The HR specialist will provide support in various human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and record-keeping.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with departments on recruitment strategies and develop recruitment plans.
  • Manage and update organizational charts.
  • Resolve employee relations issues and conduct exit interviews.
  • Prepare offer letters and employee status change letters.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions.
  • Coordinate advertising for vacancies and post advertisements internally and externally.
  • Perform data entry for new hires and HR forms.
  • Manage employee files and records.
  • Audit HR systems for data integrity and compliance.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and payroll regarding leave balances.
  • Coordinate staff training and assist in training development and delivery.
  • Assist with departmental audits.
  • Update and communicate department policies and procedures.
  • Participate in university committees and community work.
  • Maintain confidentiality of HR information and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Assist with New Hire Orientations.
  • Process tuition reimbursement applications and generate reports.
  • Process and disseminate union reports per collective bargaining agreements.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for invoices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of office experience, preferably in HR.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel; experience with Banner is desirable.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
