The United Jewish Council of the East Side (UJCES) is a non-profit organization. For 50 years, UJCES has provided human services and community development programs on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Their programs include food assistance, and nutritious food is available to the community through two food pantries.

WHAT: Volunteers will help unload and organize large truck deliveries of groceries, to restock food pantries. Tasks include bending and lifting heavy materials.

WHEN: UJCES is looking for volunteers who are available on Wednesdays, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Individual volunteers are welcome as are groups of up to 6 volunteers. Truck deliveries take place twice per month; volunteers can commit to one date or regular service. You must be 14+ years old to volunteer.
