Catalio Capital Management is a New York City-based multi-strategy investment firm that invests in life sciences & healthcare companies through its private equity, private credit and public equities strategies. You ll work side by side with professional investors, entrepreneurs, scientists and clinicians to help us support companies bringing leading innovations to market that will meaningfully improve the lives of patients around the globe.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial analysis with experience evaluating healthcare companies and a robust network of biotech and healthcare VCs and early-stage companies. Experience working in credit and/or operational experience at early stage biotech & healthcare companies are pluses, but not required. As a vital member of our credit analysis team, you will be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of potential borrowers within the life science and healthcare sectors, providing insights into investment opportunities, and assisting in decision-making processes to optimize risk-adjusted returns.

The analyst will join a team of investment professionals with a blend of financial, scientific, and healthcare industry expertise. The role will focus primarily on supporting the structured credit portfolio managers through financial, commercial, and technical analysis of structured credit investments in early and growth stage life science and other healthcare companies. The analyst will have ample opportunity to work with and contribute to investments across strategies and to contribute meaningfully to idea generation and investment decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Build flexible financial models including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis to assess creditworthiness and financial returns across a variety of scenarios
  • Lead diligence effort across commercial, financial, and scientific due diligence, including engagement with key opinion leaders and other market participants
  • Track industry trends and prepare market landscapes across healthcare and life science verticals sector to identify areas of interest
  • Source new opportunities via proactive outreach
  • Support portfolio managers in developing structured credit investment proposals
  • Synthesize financial analysis and due diligence into investment committee memos; present investment thesis and diligence conclusions to investment committee
  • Collaborate with Catalio team members across the research & investment teams, including scientific analysts, and dedicated public and private equity teams
  • Track new and existing portfolio companies, including by interfacing with company management and attending company board meetings

Requirements:

  • BA/BS required; coursework in finance and/or biological sciences or related field preferred
  • 2-4+ years of buy or sell side experience covering healthcare companies, including biotech/pharma or healthcare investment banking experience
  • Experience analyzing innovative life sciences and healthcare companies
  • Strong financial modeling experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This position is full-time, in-person in New York City.
