ABOUT

We are seeking a Head of Production who is responsible for overseeing all elements of projects related to branding, graphic design, 2D/3D motion graphics, and live-action content. Majority of the content work will be in graphic design and motion graphic content, with a smaller emphasis on live action. The Head of Production will oversee all agency projects pertaining to content. Client and project management are central to this position as the Head of Production drives the project and process. This role ensures project goals align with the studio's objectives, manages budgets, resources, contracts, and provides strategic guidance and mentorship to ensure successful project execution within timelines and quality standards. This position will work collaboratively to streamline and optimize project delivery, work with senior leadership to help shape the department, and oversee the production s day-to-day. This individual should be comfortable working in a fast paced, high volume, working environment and skilled in maintaining and continuously improving workflow efficiencies. Superior communication, problem solving skills, supportive management style, and ability to prioritize are a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, oversee, mentor, and manage the creative production team on all graphic design, branding, motion graphics, and content projects.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively, ensuring that each team member understands their role in the overall process.
  • Work with the team to conceptualize, develop, and oversee the execution of design projects. Collaborate with creative teams and other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach for the content.
  • Translate creative ideas into project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Allocate resources effectively, including internal personnel to projects based on their scope and requirements. Source and manage contractors and consultants when needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, understanding needs and expectations. Act as a central point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates and ensuring parties are aligned.
  • Work closely with the Head of Strategic Growth to develop and implement the overarching production strategy aligned with the studio goals.
  • Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure consistency and excellence in graphic design and motion projects. Conduct regular reviews and assessments of the department's performance.
  • Oversee budgets and work with the Head of Finance on monitoring financial performance, variances, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Identify potential risks associated with production and develop contingency plans.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the department based on lessons learned and industry best practices and encourage a culture of learning and development.
  • Work with the team to oversee and manage relationships with vendors to ensure they deliver services and products according to the agency s standard.
  • Align with Head of Operations on overall budgets, staffing, SOWs & fee structures for the department
  • Support Senior Leadership on business development and pitch deck preparation. Ensure the physical department is adequately represented in any applicable pitch and/or capability presentation.
  • Experience working in content and graphics in unusual outlets (OOH, experiential, show graphics) is a plus.
  • Be an involved member of projects and jump in to run them when/where needed. This is inclusive of creative production, account management and physical production:
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines + budgets to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope
  • Allocate resources effectively, manage project risks, and proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Understand client needs and objectives, and translate them into creative briefs and project plans.
  • Manage client expectations, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead meetings and conference calls, and effectively present/articulate creative work
  • Lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and communication among team members.
  • Provide clear direction, feedback, and support to team members to ensure project success.
  • Analyze project performance and client feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8-10+ years working in a graphics + content production capacity at a studio/agency environment, with at least 3 years experience as an EP.
  • Experience leading and managing a team content producers
  • Experience working closely with motion and graphic designers and having a deep understanding of the creative process from inception to completion
  • Experience leading and executing large scale graphic (branding, OOH campaigns etc) and motion (2D + 3D) design projects
  • Expert organizational and prioritization skills
  • Has experience managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously
  • Experience working cross-functionally across divisions
  • Ability to oversee multiple large scale projects at once with the proper teams in place to execute
  • Experience developing Scopes of Work and project plans for project budgets over $500,000
  • Flexible attitude toward evolving responsibilities and environments
  • Working understanding of event industry standards
  • Client-facing communication skills; ability to communicate with confidence and positivity
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Proficient in GSuite Applications (Drive, Slides, Docs, Sheets, etc)
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced creative environment
