Job Description:

Our global association client is looking for a Head of PR & Communications for the Americas with a strong knowledge of financial markets to lead and execute on all aspects of communications across the Americas while working with other regional leads. The focus will be on integrated PR-forward campaigns that incorporate corporate communications, thought leadership, social media, and marketing (earned, owned, and shared channels). They will work cross functionally with other teams and stakeholders and have the support of a PR agency.

You will be tasked with building brand awareness and positioning the organization as a leader, driving understanding of its value to investors, and educating the industry on the need for market reform.

Head of PR & Communications for the Americas Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Head of EMEA Communications and internal stakeholders to create and execute PR and communications plans that support global initiatives with a North American market focus.
  • Drive engagement with key stakeholders, media and investors via integrated communications centered in the North American market while also aligned with global plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the UK-based global marketing team to ensure global campaigns resonate with the North American audience.
  • Identify media opportunities to engage with the organization's proprietary content that reach target audiences.
  • Draft and edit media materials, including press releases, briefing documents, Q&A's, etc.
  • Partner with the research and marketing team to develop integrated campaigns to launch the organization's research and initiatives via key messages through earned, owned, and shared channels.
  • Work with the ESG Team to amplify their projects and build brand credibility and trust via creative storytelling and campaign ideation.
  • Drive executive visibility by identifying opportunities for CEO profiles and leading executive communications.
  • Work with the external PR agency to manage the US press office and position the organization and its US spokespeople as leaders in their industry in Tier 1 media outlets.
  • Build, maintain and strengthen media relationships with Tier 1 outlets, specifically within the investment and business space.
  • Execute a proactive engagement program for US leadership by utilizing research, market knowledge, and insights to position the organization as a thought leader while being prepared to develop messaging in response to breaking news and emerging market trends.

Head of PR & Communications for the Americas Requirements:

  • 12 - 15 years of public relations and corporate communications experience in the financial services industry at a strategic firm and/or in-house. Specific capital and financial markets experience is preferred.
  • Bachelors' degree required.
  • Must have experience developing communications and PR strategies for financial services audiences (i.e. capital markets, asset managers, private wealth managers, investors, and more).
  • Strong media contacts, specifically within the financial services and business sectors at top tier outlets and trades.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, industry trends and ability to leverage these insights.
  • Extensive experience utilizing data and analytics to demonstrate PR campaign impact and results.
  • Comfortable working with a small global team and thus wearing multiple hats (i.e. support marketing, amplify content via social media channels, draft content, etc).
  • Experience and confident working with senior spokespeople and C-suite leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with a knack for storytelling.
  • MUST be based in New York.

*Please note this is a HYBRID role and employees must come into the Manhattan office 3 days a week. Relocation will not be provided nor will travel expenses be reimbursed.
