We are seeking smart, passionate, ambitious, and hardworking team players to help us bring Sakara to the next level.About the role:We are looking for a Head of People, Senior Director to lead and oversee all aspects of our People function, reporting directly to the Chief Legal and Administrative Officer. As the Sakara Head of People, you will focus on building a culture of excellence, attracting and retaining top talent, and developing comprehensive People programs and processes that align with our strategic priorities and drive high performance and engagement. You have strong consultative skills, coupled with a passion for thinking strategically and managing the details. You thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing entrepreneurial environment and are willing to contribute wherever necessary. You believe in a people-first approach to HR with a focus on creating an environment where everyone can do their best work.Responsibilities:Strategic People LeadershipManage, develop and lead the Sakara People Team.Develop and implement People Team strategies and initiatives aligned with Sakara s strategic prioritiesProvide strategic guidance and support to the Executive Team on all HR mattersContribute meaningfully to Sakara s culture and communityCompensation and BenefitsDesign, implement and manage a competitive total rewards programEnsure compensation practices are aligned with market standards and internal equityEmployee Engagement and Employee RelationsOversee People Team in developing and implementing people strategy and programs focused on all aspects of the employee lifecycleOversee Performance ManagementCreate and manage learning and development programs to support employee growth and career progression, with a focus on management training.Oversee People Team in providing counseling and training for employees and managers on policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment lawsManage and resolve complex employee relations issues; conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations when neededOversee Office Administrator to ensure that work spaces are efficient, organized and engagingTalent AcquisitionEnsure that our employment brand is fresh and differentiated to continuously attract top talentPartner with Executive Team members on organizational designOversee recruitment and onboarding processes and strategies to support those designsHR Administration, Data and AnalyticsOversee HR administrationUtilize People Team data and metrics to drive informed decision-making and improve People Team processesMonitor HR / People Team trends and provide insights to support strategic planningRequirements:Minimum 7 years HR/People Ops/HRBP experience, preferably in fast paced, growing businessesWorking knowledge of multiple HR areas, including talent and performance management, recruiting, compensation, benefits, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, culture and engagement, and US employment lawsTrack record of building trusted and collaborative relationships between the People Team and stakeholders across all levels of an organizationExperience working with both salaried and hourly employee populationsExperience quickly diagnosing challenges, strategizing solutions, and implementing changeExceptional written and verbal communication, with an ability to package and communicate People operational items in a simple, clear, scalable and engaging wayAbility to understand the business operations from both a strategic and tactical perspective and translate concepts into actionable itemsAbility to think strategically and proven ability to influence decision making.Courage to make tough decisions and deliver difficult messages with professionalism and poiseComfortable working in ambiguous business situationsStrong sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to get it done This full-time role is based at our NYC Headquarters in Soho. We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it s helpful to have flexibility to work remotely. Currently we are operating under a hybrid model whereby all corporate teams work in our NYC office a minimum of three days per week (Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays). There may be times when you re asked to work in person more than three days per week because it s in the best interest of our business or your team and we ask for your flexibility.The compensation salary range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000 annually. It is important to note that our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size, industry, and the market and are one part of the total rewards that we provide.
